Is it possible to build up an immunity to any poison if you take small enough doses?

It is possible to build up an immunity to some snake venom types by administering non-lethal doses over a period of time. However, I do not think that the same holds true for the metallic types of poison as they build up in the body and would eventually kill. But I'm not an expert.
