Mirena or implanon users-please answer?

I have the merina, and I am completely happy with it. I am on my second one, they only last 5 years. I have had a merina for six and a half years now. The insertion was only mildly painful, no worse than period cramps. There was cramping the rest of that day, both times. I recommend taking tylenol or ibuprofen before the appointment. I had sporadic periods for the first year and none since. Occasionally I do have some lower back pain around what would be my time of the month. Nothing tylenol doesn't fix. I would recommend a merina to anyone needing long term birth control.
